Gateway Solver is an internet-enabled product which will require access past your corporate firewall to work as intended.

Additionally, Gateway Solver needs access to our online registration server. Gateway Solver will make a single plain text HTTP request, passing your machine code fingerprint* to our online registration service. Gateway Solver will return a list of authorised companies and services that you are licensed to file for. You can see the information transmitted and returned by using the "My Account" feature.

No personally identifiable information is transmitted to us on this service and none is received. This service is used to determine which companies the current computer is allowed to file for, and the expiry date of the services. If access to this server is denied, you will not be able to file online.
* Machine Code Fingerprint: This is the unique serial number of the hardware components within the computer that Gateway Solver is installed on.
Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (was ISA Server)
Users of Microsoft's network firewall, antivirus, web cache and VPN server software may find that some software products that require internet access do not work correctly from within the corporate network.
Gateway Solver is compliant is Microsoft's Forefront Threat Management Gateway and ISA Server. Simply specify the local IP address of the server in the "Use HTTP Proxy Server" text box, and port (in x.x.x.x:port format) and check the 'Authenticate with Microsoft ISA Server' checkbox from within "Options & Settings".
